FacetPhone Version 4 Announced

NetTAPITM Protocol, IP Phones and Other Major Features Introduced

January 16, 2007

FacetCorp (Plano, TX, USA), a leading provider of IP-PBX telephone systems announced a broad series of major feature additions to FacetPhone. With the release of FacetPhoneTM Version 4, support has been added for the Polycom® SoundPoint® IP phone, the best IP phone value in the industry. Version 4 also takes FacetPhone's leading computer telephone integration technology to a new level with the NetTAPITM protocol. FacetPhone V4 includes a wide array of new features in the areas of voice mail and call recording retrieval, presence management, call reporting, call centers, and administration.

The new NetTAPI protocol is a flexible application programming interface for FacetPhone which allows any customer software application to easily communicate with the phone system. The initial NetTAPI commands allow for application program notification of any user phone activity, to initiate and terminate call recording, and to request the complete call detail record associated with a user's phone call. With FacetPhone's NetTAPI, customers and software providers can automatically put the entire call detail record, including the location of any recordings, in the corporate customer relationship management system. “We have recently implemented the FacetPhone NetTAPI with Infor's FACTS accounting for our Relationship Management accounts and it creates an outstanding value for customers,” said Lori Allaman Hanken, President of Pivotal Systems.

FacetPhone V4 provides integrated support for the Polycom SoundPoint IP 501 and IP 301 phones. The Polycom SoundPoint IP 501 IP phone provides users with hands-free intercom capability and predefined FacetPhone feature keys including record, do not disturb and conference buttons. These Polycom SoundPoint IP phones have been completely integrated with FacetPhone such that all functions are available from both the phone and the FacetPhone graphical user interface. And the IP 501 comes with a full duplex speakerphone. The Polycom SoundPoint IP phones may be powered with standard AC power or with Power over Ethernet (PoE). “We have evaluated virtually every IP phone on the market and decided to integrate the Polycom SoundPoint IP phone with FacetPhone because of the extremely high quality and overall price performance of this phone,” said Paul Vance, General Manager at FacetCorp.

FacetPhone V4 includes many other important new features for general business, call center and presence management functionality. These include:

• Voice mail and call recordings may now be automatically archived and retrieved via a web-based interface.
• Comprehensive user level status information is now captured based on their status changes and logins and logouts. With this level of presence management information capture, managers can get detailed personnel time clock and other measurement reporting data.
• The FacetPhone ACD (automatic call distribution) and IVR (interactive voice response) systems now have the option of automatically telling a caller what their average wait time will be and/or what position they are in the call queue.
• Visible status duration information is now part of the FacetPhone graphical user interface user display. This allows users or managers to quickly see how long a user has been in a particular status (e.g. at lunch for 53 minutes).
• Automated attendant scheduling can now be managed with a calendaring function from the FacetPhone graphical user interface.
• A 'sticky status' option has been added so that users can logout of FacetPhone and have their previous status override their default status (e.g. vacation).
• FacetPhone now has a standard IVR that will ask a caller up to 10 questions and record each answer, then concatenate the answers into a single voice mail that can go to a group's voice mail folder.
• Additional management privileges have been added to allow managers to not have their active call information shown on call displays.
• User level call queues are available so that individual users on the FacetPhone system can get the benefit of queued calls that is normally reserved for call center automatic call distribution (ACD) groups.
• FacetPhone can now (optionally) automatically pop up a box to allow an operator (or any user) to enter who a parked call is for. With this feature, a user with their graphical user interface can instantly see if a parked call is for them.
• Parked call ring back allows calls that have been parked to automatically ring back to an operator group after a set amount of time.

There is no charge for existing FacetPhone customers who are under warranty or software maintenance to upgrade to Version 4. Customers not under maintenance or warranty may upgrade for $75 per port.
